Friends or Family Essay Example for Free

Companions or Family Essay At the point when you have loved ones, you have the individuals who care for you. At the point when you have them, you don’t truly need whatever else. At the point when you have a family and some great companions, you realize that they will consistently be there for you. You realize that you can generally rely on them, and you certainly realize that you can confide in them with a mystery or anything individual. At the point when you are encircled by them, you understand that nothing on the planet can ever supplant them. Nothing can ever supplant the recollections that you have. Regardless of how much cash, or how acclaimed, or how stylish you are, it wouldn’t be that incredible on the off chance that you didn’t have companions or a family. I could never exchange them for anything. I might want to be rich, have pretty shoes, costly handbags, own a huge amount of make-up, and have an entire storage room loaded with garments. Yet, my family and my companions are substantially more significant. They don’t even consideration about what I resemble or what I wear. I could come to class in night robe or wake up resembling an oddity, and it wouldn’t matter. They don’t care about looks. Also, they truly don’t care that I’m NOT great. I don’t need to fake it like I’m such just to spend time with them. I could act like an absolute washout and spruce up in unusual stuff an objective holding a mop or an immense crown at the shopping center and they would begin chuckling. Individuals would be seeing us like we wear insane. In any case, we would simply snicker realizing that we look hindered. They wouldn’t state, â€Å"I don’t know her† or something to that effect. Alright, perhaps they would, however that is the great part. Now and again I may do another silly thing like ride a little bicycle down the road or move like an insane person. Once in a while, I’ll get exhausted and state something arbitrary like â€Å"I like eggs† and my companions wouldn’t grimace. My family would begin chuckling. I recall this one time, my companions younger sibling through my mobile phone at my head. It hurt yet it was extremely entertaining. And afterward some other time, my companions came over and we made supper for my sibling. We frantic an entire smorgasbord of Mac and Cheese. Despite the fact that no one ate it, it was as yet fun. We would have a billion recollections we can snicker about from in 12 months' time. In the event that you have just cash, you will be desolate and the main thing you can do is purchase things that don’t truly have any worth on the off chance that you have nobody to impart it to. Being forlorn in a tremendous house and with bunches of stuff simply lying around may be extraordinary for show and all, yet with regards to things that genuinely matter, loved ones, are what’s extremely significant. In the event that I were rich, I might want it from the start, however then it would get irritating. Not so much knowing who your companions are or not realizing who is utilizing you and who is truly there for you. At that point, just having a few companions, simply because they were as rich as you. I’m not saying you don’t need cash, since everyone needs a few. In any case, it’s not the most significant thing.

Introduction To Portfolio Theory Finance Essay - Free Essay Example

Firstly, we need to define the word of portfolio in order to get more understanding about the portfolio theory and portfolio development. Portfolio is refers to a group of financial assets such as stocks, bonds and cash. The portfolios are mostly hold by investors according to their risk tolerance, time taken and investment objectives and/or will be controlled by financial professionals, banks and other financial institutions to get the better allocation of risk-return portfolio. Besides, there are two types of risk that involved: diversified and undiversified risk. Diversified risk also called as unsystematic risk which the risks cannot be fully predicted and avoided, the examples are interest rates and wars. The undiversified risk is known as systematic risk and this kind of risk can be reduced through suitable diversification and it is more specific to individual stock. The History of Portfolio Management Portfolio Theory is also known as Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT). It was first developed and discovered by Harry Max Markowitz. He is an American economist, born on 24th August 1927. He is also a professor of finance at the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego. Portfolio Theory was introduced in his paper Portfolio Selection which was published in the Journal of Finance in 1952. In 1990, he won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for the Theory, shared with Merton Miller and William Sharpe. Markowitz is not only known for his pioneering work in Portfolio Theory. He is also very known for the study of the effects of asset risk, return, correlation and diversification related to investment portfolio returns. The Benefits of Portfolio Management The main advantage of portfolio management is to help companies manage all their processes as well as set objectives. Small businesses may not have a structure for portfolio management, but most companies often employ someone to handle their projects. A portfolio management benefits the investors in making decisions especially risk matters. It is very important for investors to know how to control risk in their business portfolios. Besides that, it improves business performances. Portfolio management improves business performances by setting the priorities for better project delivery. Business projects are often achieved by resources which are evenly shared alongside with other projects. Many projects may end up competing for resources. This is where portfolio management is much needed. It helps in planning so that resources are equally distributed in all the business processes. This involves measuring, comparing, and prioritizing the most valuable projects only. The conflicts between the projects for resources are resolved by the high level management. The skill sets required for each project and ideal source of these resources are determined by incorporating formal sourcing strategies. The performance problems are corrected earlier to their development in major issues. Although, portfolio management cannot completely eliminate performance failures, it helps in identifying the performance issues early. The portfolio management involves steps such as identify, growth and deal with any issues related to implementation. The portfolio also helps in keeping the progress of projects or work on track. Traditional and Modern Portfolio From the evolution of mankind, people are trying to get rich. Hence, many investments have been made. Countless method has been introduced to manage portfolio. In this page, we will compare Markowitz Modern Portfolio Theory and Altman Z-score theory. Modern Portfolio Theory Also called modern investment theory, this theory states that investors will only bear excessive rate if they are compensated sufficiently. This theory is developed by Harry Markowitz in year 1950th. Modern Portfolio Theory seeks to construct an optimal portfolio by looking at the relationship between risk and return by measuring alpha, beta and R-squared. Investors can construct an optimal portfolio by maximizing the expected return for that level of risk. The formula for Markowitzs theory is as below. E(R_i) = R_f + beta_{i}(E(R_m) R_f), Where E(R_i)~~is the expected return on the capital asset R_f~is the risk-free rate of interest such as interest arising from government bonds beta_{i}~~(the  beta) is the  sensitivity  of the expected excess asset returns to the expected excess market returns, or also  beta_{i} = frac {mathrm{Cov}(R_i,R_m)}{mathrm{Var}(R_m)}, E(R_m)~is the expected return of the market E(R_m)-R_f~is sometimes known as the  market premium  (the difference between the expected market rate of return and the risk-free rate of return). E(R_i)-R_f~is also known as the  risk premium According to Markowitz, there is a formulation, efficient market frontier that used to measures and calculates the portfolio in the level of ideal return and risk. Graph below shows the efficient frontier for two stocks (Google and Coca Cola) in year 2006 where the Google has high risk -return and Coca Cola has low risk-return. https://i.investopedia.com/inv/articles/site/CT_MPT_2r.gif The Efficient Frontier along with the portfolios would expect a higher on returns than its typical on the average for the level of risk the portfolio assumes. We would notice the Efficient Frontier line will starts lower at first and then slowly the expected risks and return will move higher. Investors having different investing profiles can find a suitable portfolio at any place within The Efficient Frontier. As the Efficient Frontier flattens, it goes higher due to the peak limit the investors can already expect. By using the Monte Carlo simulation, we can use the percentage of standard deviation and average return, types of chosen investment and time horizon to compute and comparing the annualized return rate of different investments. The formula is ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒâ€¹Ã¢â‚¬  Ãƒâ€¦Ã‚ ¡(ÃÆ'Ã… ½Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ £Wa2ÃÆ' Ãƒâ€ Ã¢â‚¬â„¢a2 + ÃÆ'Ã… ½Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ £ÃƒÆ'Ã… ½Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ £WaWbCovab), where w is the size of portfolio in a security, ÃÆ' Ãƒâ€ Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ is the standard deviation of the expected return in the security and Cov is the covariance of the expected return in the security. According to the graph below, when the number of portfolio is increasing, the percentage of average portfolio standard deviation and risk to a one-stock portfolio will also decreasing at the same time. In Modern Portfolio Theory, the Sharpe Ratio is use to find the best proportion of the possible securities used and also a measurement for return to risk. The formula for Sharpe Ratio is: S(x) = ( rx   -   Rf ) / StdDev(x) where x is some investment rx is the average annual rate of return of x Rf is the best available rate of return of a risk-free security (i.e. cash) StdDev(x) is the standard deviation of rx The Sharpe Ratio of X is the slope of the line joining cash with X There is another calculation method to calculate the expected return for two assets portfolio, which is ERP = ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒâ€¹Ã¢â‚¬  Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Å"wiERi Portfolio Strategies According to Mr. Markowitz, there are two types of portfolio strategies which are passive portfolio strategies and active portfolio strategies. The passive portfolio strategy is a strategy that will relies more on the minimum of input in order to have better performances in some of the market index. The other one, active portfolio strategy is a strategy that uses all the market information or available information and evaluating techniques to get a better portfolio performance. In addition, there are 3 types of portfolio, which are patient, aggressive and conservative portfolio. The patient portfolio is mostly the famous taken stock and has the most holders and buyers for longer time period. Those also reflect of the high growth companies and having the higher profit of income. The aggressive portfolio is those having higher return, higher risk and also has the most potential of future development stock. However, the aggressive portfolio would experience unexpected turnovers over time. The conservative portfolios have a stable and trustable earnings growth and history of dividend. Argument of Modern Portfolio Theory When Markowitz and Sharpe first created this theory, they define risk and volatility. This theory concept is the greater the volatility, the higher the beta, the greater the risk. Yet, there are no proof that measuring volatility as risk is a good measurement. In (J. Michael Murphy, Efficient Markets, Index Funds, Illusion, and Reality,  Journal of Portfolio Management  (Fall 1977), pp. 5-20.), it states that I realized returns appear to be higher than expected low low-risk securities and lower than expected for high-risk securities or that the [risk-reward] relationship was far weaker than expected. He also stated that Other important studies have concluded that there is not necessarily any  stable  relationship between risk and return; that there often may be virtually no relationship between return achieved and risk taken; and that high volatility unit trusts were not compensated by greater returns. In Haugen and Heins, Risk and the Rate of Return on F inancial Assets: Some Old Wine in New Bottles,  Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis  (December 1975), pp 775-84) concluded that The results of our empirical effort do not support the conventional hypothesis that risk systematic or otherwise generates a special reward. These papers were published in the mid to late 70s, just as EMH and MPT were really taking off and revolutionizing the way Wall Street invested money. In year 2008 economy meltdown, lots of stocks were losing money. Yet, only a few assets classes performed well, namely gold, oil, gasses and Treasury bond. These assets classes have very low risk or volatility. Moreover, calculating beta is practically very difficult. https://www.smart401k.com/Content/Education/Smart401k/Home/advanced-retirement-investing/Modern-Portfolio-Theory.aspx https://www.efficientfrontier.com/ef/996/basics.htm https://www.investopedia.com/walkthrough/corporate-finance/4/return-risk/portfolios.aspx

Health Workforce Planning for Kenya Samples †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Health Workforce Planning Kenya. Answer: Introduction The report has various sections which discusses strategic planning process, environmental scanning and some of the recommendations that Kenya, or most of the low income countries can use to make an effective strategic plan process. In addition to that, the report elaborates the steps and process that one can use to come up with a strategic plan process and environmental scan. Moreover, as Kenya is the chosen country to be looked at, looks at some of the health care data that the country registers as far as the health sector is concerned. Moreover, it gives a critical analysis of the data that is presented in the graph and table. Strategic planning process In this progression, organizers distinguish the need for a workforce plan and the reason that enable them to device such a plan of coming up with a workforce plan. In addition to that, the workforce plan that is developed must meet certain criteria in the sense that it has to articulate the reason why such a plan has been developed (Masnick, McDonnell, 2010). In addition to that, a well work force plan must be laid out to determine whether the workforce plan ought to incorporate the whole health care system or it is just part of the part of a scheme to cover few individuals. The first step is not like the other steps as it involves three methods that have correlations between them. On the other hand, the second step is not similar to the first one as it involves those that are in charge in overseeing the implementation of the workforce, especially in looking at the welfare of patients and their decisions. Those that are in charge of coming up with the workforce plan have to make sure that it articulates the advancement of human in relation to health and other social services related to health care such patients finances. In addition to that, the one coming up with the workforce plan have to ensure that it is in a position to factor in the changes that emanates as a result of the implementation of the workforce (Celletti, Holloway, De Cock, Dybul, 2007). Also, advantages and disadvantages that exist and accompany the implementation of the workforce must also be considered in relation to the practice that is in place. Moreover, the other step is to consider the necessary skills that are needed in the implementation of the workforce plan. These ought to selectively select in the sense that those with specialized skills in a particular field will not be shifted to other areas that can raise concerns or rather render the program a complete failure (Adano, 2008). Also, the fact that there exist quite a number of health care employees who register turnover is a factor that needs consideration is the sense that it the plan will factor in the things that makes employees turn away from work instead of retaining their jobs. On the other hand, coming up with a definite number of employees that are deemed fit to sustain the plan is a good idea and forms part of the steps that are involved in coming up with a workforce plan. Thus, needs an endorsement and is another good idea that implementers or that that re in charge in organizing the workforce program needs to look at and make sure that it is put into practice or considered in forming the program (Hart, 2007). Lastly, as changes are constant in every aspect or field. It is therefore crucial that the people at the helm is regards to implementing or rather putting into the practice the workforce plan are carefully chosen to include the changes that may occur in the future. The skills that suit the dynamics in health care ought to be properly put in place and those that fits current labor markets (Nancarrow, Borthwick, 2005). Also, in making out plans, there ought to be a consideration of how future plans will likely work out, this can be in regards to administration. After the arrangement is propelled, intermittent audit and change are basic. To empower this, the arrangement ought to be express about how achievement will be measured. What's more, any unintended outcomes of changes should be recognized with the goal that remedial activities can be taken. Planners likewise need to set up a surveying and observing procedure so they can refresh the arrangement as indicated by the changing workforce needs of the venture or program (Rodger, Hoffman, 2010). It is advantageous to say that, in spite of the fact that the six stages exhibited above are in numerical request, the procedure of workforce arranging is in itself patterned and not straight. As needs be, workforce organizers may wind up returning to past strides as they work through the approach and when new data becomes exposed after the arrangement is executed (Crawford, Summerfelt, Roy, Chen, Meltzer, Thacker, 2009). Process of coming up with an environmental scan approach A top to bottom situational investigation gives the premise to distinguishing key issues and setting program needs. Information gathered is alluded to as optional information since it was gathered by different associations for their motivations, however demonstrates helpful to Extension. In the programming writing, this progression alludes to deciding dissected needs. To direct this progression, province groups were given a County Profile Template to help them in arranging and contrasting their information with figure out what developed as regions of concern (Po, 2014). District groups could gather key information and contrast the circumstance in their region and the state and in addition with neighboring provinces. Those information things where their region was more regrettable off than the state as well as neighboring districts were highlighted for further examination later in the filtering procedure. Then again this progression of the procedure, region groups directed one-on-one meetings or center gatherings to get data from their countywide Advisory Leadership Council, program-particular consultative boards of trustees, and province government authorities. They found out about key partners' need issues (Lawlor, Morgan, Frankel, 2002). This progression recognizes the recommended needs of key partners. These partners are instrumental to the survival of an association and can assume a crucial part in securing support for automatic endeavors This progression is led to permit region groups to get notification from however many nationals as could reasonably be expected. Mapping is a method for isolating the district into sensible portions to include a different gathering of natives speaking to fluctuating conclusions and interests (Alejos, Weingartner, Scharff, Ablah, Frazier, Hawley, Wright, 2008).. It is basic that all portions of the province populace be included, especially bunches that generally may not get the chance to give their bits of knowledge and have their requirements reflected in necessities appraisal forms. Area groups were given devices to recognizing and surveying resources of people and associations in view of the work. This appraisal filled in as an approach to recognize undiscovered individual abilities and gifts, and also offices or associations that are as of now tending to some part of the issue. Basically, this progression makes groups a piece of the arrangement as they join forces with Extension to address their own particular issues utilizing different group resources combined with the aptitude and assets from Extension (Van Greuningen, Batenburg, and Van der Velden, 20120). Issues getting the most astounding need were those that were reliably esteemed as most vital by the great many people. Among the need issues, those accepting top need were those that were direr in nature. To a lesser degree, different contemplations were made in the prioritization procedure, for example, those for which group resources can be assembled (Nyoni, Gbary, 2008). Region groups must create program procedures to address the need issues in a far reaching and all-encompassing way. Findings from policy and planning of the relevant document and recommendations There are things that the country needs to consider before coming up with either a strategic plan. Firstly, the government and in this case Kenya need to come up with a policy that will highlight some of the problem that faces a country or that which involves healthcare (Rodger, Hoffman, 2010). To start with, the policy must be one that takes into consideration labor market and the need to ensure that there are no health care professionals that are out without a job, while the country is of dire need of health care services. In addition to that, low income countries have been on the spot in not embracing or promoting gender equality and rights in health care. A good plan is one that is able to include women both in medical in the health care workforce especially during the recruitment of health care workers. In addition to that, there ought not to be gender biases during employment or promotion of health care officials (Nyoni, Gbary, Awases, Ndecki, Chatora, 2014). In Kenya, still, the ratio of males to women in health care is high making it necessary for that bridge to be lowered to represent gender equity. Kenya has several medical training and education of higher learning that train doctors, nurses and other health care professional. In addition to that, the country has a one year internship program that aims at making sure that that the medics they produce are well trained and competent for the job market. In that line, a workforce plan must be one that promote lifelong training and which produces competent health care professionals. Moreover, with the advancement in technology, it is penetrating the health care sector at an alarming rate. Technology faster communication, increases efficiency of tasks and reduces human errors. Thus, there is also need for a future plans to be in line with the use of modern technology which will not only be useful to health care professionals, but also to customers who can now be able to access medical services in a more efficient manner (Bloor, K., Maynard, Hall, Ulmann, Farhauer, Lindgren, 2003). For instance, opening a portal for patients to book appointments for treatment, consultations or medical checkup. Conclusion In a low income countries, developing a workforce plan is essential and needs inclusion of an environmental Scan approach in coming up with such a plan. There are various as steps that are involved in coming up with a workforce plan or planning for the same. Firstly, one has to come up with a workforce plan. In addition to that, the next step involves mapping service change. This will be followed with understanding the availability of the workforce that is required and coming and then coming up with a plan. Lastly, one has to monitor the implementation of the plan. In Kenya, is the chosen country for this report, environmental scan approach is essential before coming up with a plan. It also entails various steps. In analyzing Kenya as a country of low income, there are various findings that one can deduce from them in regards and form recommendations to that effect which will act as a guiding tool for their program.
